Residential programs serving the exploited face a significant number of legal challenges and need the counsel of attorneys who share their values. The Institute for Survivor Care has developed a Shield Bearers network: committed Christians who practice law in a variety of arenas, who provide pro-bono or low-cost legal services to affiliated shelters. The Institute for Survivor Care is a national Christian organization that seeks to improve access and quality of care for victims of domestic sexual exploitation through state-level shelter programs.
