The Institute for Survivor Care has earned the right to steward this Fund through 19+ years of faithful, effective, survivor-centered work that predates the cultural moment when anti-trafficking became a popular cause. We have been doing the slow, unglamorous work of survivor care for years. That means we know what works; we know what doesn’t. We have seen promising models fail and humble organizations quietly change lives. That tenure in the field cannot be purchased or fabricated.

The Institute’s most foundational commitment is to the dignity and agency of survivors. They are people made in the image of God, with voices that deserve to be heard, with wisdom earned through suffering, and with capacity for healing and leadership that our programs are designed to cultivate. Every organization that receives a grant from the Legacy Fund will be held to this same standard.
